A Win For the Lefties

It was a well-played weekend for Bubba Watson who took home the victory at this week’s Farmers Insurance Open. During Sunday’s final hole at Torrey Pines it was a battle between two lefty’s, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson. If Mickelson could have pulled out an eagle he could have had a chance. Fortunately for Watson his 12-foot birdie was all he needed to be crowned the victor this weekend. Where was Tiger this weekend you ask? Unfortunately the hype and optimism that Torrey Pines (a place where he has won 5 times) would help him kick his loosing streak didn’t happen. He ended up tied for 44th never finishing outside the top 10 all weekend. Perhaps it is his change to the new swing we won’t know for sure but Tiger has been taken down to mediocre in his first tournament.

Great post! Maybe it’s a Lefty thing but Bubba & Phil both play that aggressive style of golf that makes it fun to watch. They might not win every tournament because of it but I prefer to watch a guy who is going to “go for it” when it’s all on the line.
