Rooting For The Upset Or The Underdog?

No matter how you view it whether you are rooting for the underdog or an epic upset that’s what has been going on at this WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship tournament. Martin Kaymer is the only #1 seed left and some serious players have already been knocked from the running including last years champion Ian Poulter.

Not 1 not 2 not 3 but #4-Yes that is Tiger Woods slipping in the rankings. After Lee Westood, Martin Kaymer, and Graeme McDoweel now have passed him in the rankings. Woods untimely exit from this weeks match play was no help to prove himself and his new golf swing in the eyes of the world golf rankings.

Another slip in the ranks happened yesterday as Rickie Fowler and his bright pink brigade (outfit-does he like to match) took down Phil Mickelson. A tale of the establishment vs the rookies and this time the rookie took the lead. Not to mention that half of the players on the field are under the age of 30. Today Folwer plays fellow Ryder Cup teammate Matt Kuchar. I’m also pleased to see that stand in J.B. Holmes is still in the running after his swift entrance into the match play.
