Ready for my first Masters, well i’m not completely sheltered I have watched The Masters in the past but with subsequent golf knowledge usually only knowing players like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Who both are starting to have the best games of the season. Phil’s win at the Shell Houston Open really sets the stage for the Masters.
The Masters is a very special tournament, it’s one where experience does count, knowing and understanding the course gives you a huge advantage. Augusta is one of the most secretive and intricate courses around much like Pebble Beach or St. Andrew’s you stare in awe at the courses beauty.
Hopefuls are of course world ranking top players such as Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood. Many say Westwood has always the bridesmaid syndrome finishing in the top five his last 5 starts at majors. Other players who will hopefully have a nice shot at the green jacket is Rory McIlroy Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose, Nick Watney. What’s nice about this year is there is no front runner to the tournament. Most players have been having a series of highs and low depending on the day, weather, course, etc. There is definitely an open seat next to Phil ready to take over. The leaderboard and world rankings is extremely crowded, 6 of the top 7 players have a chance to win the jacket. What does this mean for the tournament? one heck of show.
