W For The Win

Winning 3 titles in in 10 months is impressive for any golfer, even more so for one who doesn’t use a swing coach. That lucky player is none other than Bubba Watson. His win on Sunday at the Zurich Classic marked his 2nd win this year and 3rd win in less than a year. This lefty overcame his 3-stroke deficit to cement his victory over Webb Simpson in Sunday’s playoff round in New Orleans. Sinking a 3 foot birdie marked Watson’s victory. Of course another rules controversy sprang up in Simpson’s violation on the 15th hole, that cost him a shot and eventually the end of tournament in regulation.

Another winner this weekend for Lee Westwood who recently took back his reign of #1 golfer, pulled out a win at the Ballantine’s Championship in South Korea (last week’s win was at the Indonesian Masters). Westwood definitely showing he deserves that #1 spot even though their is a lot of speculation if a golfer should be allowed that position without winning a major. What do you think?

Both players gaming Ping gear, clearly a good choice for both of them. Both with a last name that start with W which this week also stood for winning.

  1. There shouldn’t be any issue with Westwood having the #1 ranking, even though he has yet to win a major. The rankings are based are based on the cumulative performance of a golfer over a two year period of time and reward consistent play rather than one good tournament.

    On a side note…Go Bubba!
