Ready For The Congressional

This week it’s finally upon us golf nuts the US Open is underway!
This is the 4th time the Congressional Country Club golf course has hosted a major championship. It’s been a few years and had some serious updates have made the course ready and in tip top shape. The last time the US Open was played on this course was in 1997 and Ernie El’s found his second major win. Ideally located just outside of the national capital in Maryland it’s the perfect place for one of this year’s major golf tournaments.

Some fun groups to watch at the U.S Open this week

  • Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Martin kaymer, (world’s 1,2 & 3)
  • Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson (looking for redemption at a major)
  • Rickie Fowler, Ian Poulter, Hunter Mahan (eccentric player’s on and off the course)
  • Francesco Molinari, Matteo Manassero, Edoardo Molinari (The Italian group)
  • Graeme McDowell, Louis Oothuizen, Peter Uihlein (All Major champions and the defending champ)

Who do you think has the best chance of winning this week? Or do you think it will be another sleeper who wins the title?

It’s hard to ignore Luke Donald’s form this year. I like the way Matt Kuchar has played as well. Being an Australian I think our best chances are Jason Day and Adam Scott.
